What are our guiding principals for listing a retreat?

Immersion - Encourages participants to be out of everyday routine. Personal Growth - Facilitates learning or wellbeing. Length - Takes place for at least two days, one night. Balanced - Participants feel refreshed not stressed.


What type of retreat can I expect to find?

 A retreat can be provided in any format such as workshops, expeditions, experience, school, course, venue, or getaways. Retreat activities take many forms from the quirky and active to health and wellness. Imagination is the limit. 


Do I need to register/create an account to use the site?

No, however we'd love to understand a little about you so we are in the best position to provide information which is relevant to you.

When do I know my booking has been secured?

You will receive an email confirming your booking has been successful, this will contain your receipt number and a copy of the invoice.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

All bookings need to be cancelled directly with the retreat provider, a decision to refund any cash paid is the responsibility of the provider. It is important that you are aware of the cancellation policies, including COVID-19 policies of retreat facilitator prior to booking.

I can't find a retreat that I'm interested in.

Please contact us via the enquire button, we have over 1000 retreats in our database and are more then willing to undertake search in order to find a suitable retreat.

When do I start speaking to my retreat facilitator? 

You will be introduced via email shortly after the booking is confirmed.

Can I contact or book with retreat operator directly?

Yes, however we'd prefer that we make the introduction via our enquiry button. We only ask that you share with them that you found the retreat via Unearthed.

What is the Minimum Deposit & Payment Terms?

The retreat facilitator is responsible for determining the payment terms to secure a booking. Payment terms, including amount and timing of payment will vary depending on the retreat. Typically, the retreat will require a upfront deposit with the residual funds payable prior to retreat commencing.

I am not satisfied with the retreat and want a refund?

We encourage you to provide feedback to us but the decision to refund is that of the retreat facilitator.



How do I make changes to my booking?

Any changes to your booking are to be arranged via the Retreat facilitator.

How will I be charged?

Unearthed Retreats accepts all credit cards via Stripe for all transactions.

What type of retreats can I list?

 A retreat can be provided in any format such as workshops, expeditions, experience, school, course, venue, or getaways. Retreat activities take many forms from the quirky and active to health and wellness. Imagination is the limit. 


What is listing going to cost me?

There is no listing fee.


What is the commission of a booking or successful enquiry?

We charge commission on a booking or successful referral originated via Unearthed Retreats.


How does my retreat get online?

You will receive your own portal to manage your retreat products, bookings, guests and payments. Start the process via the "Add a Retreat".

After registering with us we provide a username and password which gives you access to the Unearthed online portal. The portal will give you complete control over the content of your listing including photos and critical data, such as cost, dates and features. Once you are satisfied with the listing information it will become immediately available to the public. The site is completely secure.

I don’t have time to upload or update my retreat to the portal, can you do it for me?

Sure, for new retreats we are happy to work with you to ensure your retreat is listed in an efficient, timely and correct manner. Over time, due to familiarisation, we hope you will find the platform easy to self-manage.

How do I receive my login information to the portal?

Once approved by our team you will be emailed the link, username and password information.

How do I send information to Unearthed Retreats?

If your listing information is not already available via another website or not available in an easy to understand format we recommend you take advantage of the portal and commence uploading the retreat directly.

Does Unearthed oblige us to use a specific T&C, cancellation and payment terms?

With exception to minimum deposit (see Minimum Deposit F&Q), retreat operators are responsible for their own cancellation policies, T&C and minimum booking criteria, including payment terms and payment due dates.

Due to COVID-19, flexible cancellation policies can often by seen as a valuable sale tool by potential customers.

When does Unearthed receive their agency fee/commission?

Once a booking has been achieved the commission will be withheld from the deposit. Residual funds will be sent to the retreat operators nominated bank account and should be received within 24hrs depending on financial service cut-off times. The withheld commission is held in an Unearthed Retreats trust account until the retreat occurs. This is to ensure funds are always available in the event of cancellation, customer dispute or refund.

How does Unearthed get paid?

Unearthed Retreats receives commission on successful bookings (see our Terms of Use)

What do we consider a successful booking?

Once deposit is taken and the booking is confirmed via the retreat operator.

Minimum deposit & payment amounts?

Sufficient deposit need to be available to pay the upfront commission to Unearthed, for example.

Retreat Cost: $1000.00

Requested Deposit: 50%

Funds Paid: $500 (50%) 

To Unearthed as commission: $150(15%)

To retreat facilitator: $350(35%)

Once a booking is completed how is the customer engaged and managed?

As the retreat facilitator you will be in the best position to provide service and up to date information to the client. Therefore, from the moment the retreat facilitator is introduced to the customer and is informed of a booking the retreat facilitator is responsible for the customer experience.

Unearthed Retreats is not in position to provide customer support as to the specific of the experience.

When does Unearthed get its commission?

Unearthed receives its commission upon payment of the deposit.

When do I receive remaining  money from Unearthed?

We aim to pay you within 7 days of receipt of the booking.

A customer found my retreat via Unearthed but didn't book via you guys. What do I owe?

If the booking originated via Unearthed Retreats we hope that you would tell us and pay us the commission owed. Honestly is the best policy.

Do we still pay you commission for successful enquiries?

Yes, commission is still payable if the enquiry is converted to a booking.

A client has already paid a deposit and the residual is now due, who is responsible for this?

 The retreat operator is in the  best position to obtain any funds owed. 

What currencies will be accepted for booking via Unearthed Retreats?

Australian Retreats: AUD only

New Zealand Retreats: NZD only.

What happens if a booking in cancelled and I need to refund the customer?

If a refund is necessary we will refund the customer the commission paid to Unearthed Retreats less transaction fees (bank and other fees).

The refund of the commission will be sent directly from Unearthed Retreats to the customer after confirmation that the retreat facilitator has processed their portion of the refund.

How do I manage availability on my retreat?

Using our Retreat Management Portal you are able to adjust availability and all other relevant retreat information.

What payment system / merchant facility is used to accept payments?

Unearthed Retreats uses Stripe for all transactions.

I operate a retreat venue which is available for hire, can I list my venue?

Yes, and its free. Alongside our retreat marketplace, Unearthed is in the process of establishing a "Find a Venue" marketplace where operators will be able to discover your venue. Please contact us via this link.
